I heard the news, and it is sad that the world has lost a person of Fred Rogers' caliber. He truly loved kids and did his best to help them with his program. I was a bit older when Mr. Rogers first aired, so I didn't see it often (I was of the Captain Kangaroo generation) but I watched it with my younger cousin when he visited us.
I understand he had stomach cancer. It must have been terrible for the poor man. I only hope he didn't suffer too much at the end, and that he crossed peacefully. Bless you, Mr. Rogers. You will never be forgotten. Peace, -Sazerac

I was of both the Capt. Kangaroo and the Mr. Rogers era. When you're so well known Eddie Murphy spoofs you on SNL then you're, well.... come to think of it.... I liked "But-wheet" but I should come up with better comparrisons. Well, Mr. Rogers certainly taught me my shirt-sweater pairing fashion sense. |

Mr. Rogers will be sorely missed, I remember growing up watching his show, I missed CPT Kangaroo, and Howdy Doodie, except for some kind of reunion or anniversary in the mid-early 80's that I vaguely remember

I'll miss Mr. Rogers, it's been a long time since I watched his program as a child, but he was one of those you just never forgot. He was a kind and gentle kid-friendly man. It is sad to know he has passed
I also remember other shows eons ago, one I can't remember the name of, it came on at 5:00am in the morning LOL, consisted of people in costumes, one was a yellow guy with a big head, and I remember this owl with glasses too, Mr. Hoot or Who or something LOL. Anyone remember the short-lived "Electric Company?" |
