Phew - lucky I live in a metric country where the conversions are so much simpler - I just have to remember that a kilolitre weighs a metric tonne.

Now, was that a European or an African swallow........... and how do you know so much about swallows?

Things that will happen when the world finaly grows too large for the water supply/food supply to cope:
1) war & starvation
2) new tech developed to make it cheaper to make clean water
3) Soy will be grown instead of beef (and later maybe even just mushrooms) - this makes food production use less water
4) Zero population growth rate will be mandated (like in china)
5) wastes of water outlawed - no more pools, take a shower less often like in europe, & maybe no more lawns (lawns might be kept so that we dont end up with a "dust" storm like way back when)

sure theres plenty more stuff that will probably happen; heck we might even start drinking blood if it gets too much of a shortage *read Dune - the Fremen (sp?)*

I would just like to point out that it is not the western Hemisphere where people "breed like roaches" Our poulation growth is nearly 0 and in some cases negative.
Who ever took that statistic hasnt been to my neighborhood yet.My neighbors seem to be able to shoot out children 2 or 3 at a time.Thank god for welfare.

I'm a Rice U. alum myself. It's ironic. The Nanotechnology building they built a few years ago is the biggest building on campus. (Well almost - it's 2nd or 3rd at least)

I understand that a Indian Representative to the Environmental conference in South Africa, blamed the fresh water shortage on flushable toilets here in the USA (the evil empire! ). She said the we MUST go to a sewage system (non-flushable) like most third world countries use. Personally, having expericenced that particular institition, I don't think so. I was in Saudia Arabia in 1991 and I found the communal toilets there extremely un-sanitary.

As for giving up my daily shower, I don't think so! I'd much rather give up my lawn (not that I water the darned thing anyway! If you water it, you must mow it. If you mow it, that takes away from your gaming time! ) Besides, I don't find Body Odor to be very pleasent like others in the world apparently do. To each his own!

That would just be gross! No water for toilets, or showers...we'd all stink like pigs and have to go to the outhouses...imagine the smells!!!

The population statistics are well documented on the web and in print. If you want to see the numbers for yourself, you can start your search at www.state.gov the state departments web site. You can get all kinds of decent and usualy accurate information there.
