When your contract expires Ive got just the thing to help you convince your mom that CABLE is the way to go.

I think you would probably be in the same boat as I am when it comes to phone expenses.

We average about $55 a month in phone calls, most of which are dial-up connections. On top of that, we spend $24.95 for our ISP. Right there youre looking at $80 just for the phoneline and ISP.

Optus has a deal where you get a $25 per month phoneline rental with 50!!! fee local calls. Any calls made after the first 50 are 15 cents apiece. Compare that to 100 calls at 22 cents plus a 17 dollar a month line rental charge. Youre looking at $39

50 calls at 15 cents each is only $32 (remember the first 50 were free)
Savings of $7 right there. The more calls you make the more you save.

The actual 3 gig per month plan is $69.95. but with the phone rental plan you get the whole package for $89.95 per month with 50 free calls (then calls are charged at 15 cents each.)

Plus, you dont tie up your phone line.

the new optus plans are not that great, go to www.whirlpool.net.au to find out more about broadband in Aus....

but i am having fun on my optus cable, my large download contract does no expire for more than 6 months
