Why is HTML banned in Ironworks Forum, yet when I type in my sig (in UBB code) and change it, and the next day look at it to change it again, all of the stuff I typed in UBB code is in HTML! I don't get it, I always have to change it back to UBB because if I don't the stuff doesn't work. What is happening?

HTML is banned cos several of its features would seriously screw up the forum. I can just see some prat trying to include a flash movie or something directly into a post or worse sig.

UBB code is designed so that it only inlcudes features useful to the forum. However your browser does not understand UBB code so the forum changes it to HTML. It should be storing the original UBB code for when you edit it - it does when editing a post, but dosent sound like it does for a sig.

Sounds like a design flaw, probly be fixed in the next forum upgrade.

and andrewas,
There are a lot of things you can do with just plain ol' html.
i tested a few of the boundaries early in this forums life.
it can be pretty nasty.

I`ve noticed that often when you edit your posts, it goes the other way... HTML turns into UBB.
If I use the <a href> </a>HTML command, when I edit it has suddenly become the UBB command...
Same with <img src> turning into the [IMG] [/IMG] UBB...

Just testing to see if a new link has been added to my sig....this looked like a good place to test it in.
