Here is a link that you might find helpful Epona:

http://www.heatsink-guide.com/maxtemp.htm

(Did you put heatsink compound between the CPU and Heatsink Fan? I know the pad that is usually already on the HS is usually not as good as Arctic Silver and this stuff can lower the temp by a lot. http://www.arcticsilver.com/ )

Try to get your cpu temp below 50 under load, I had reliablity problems with my XP box when the temps got that high.

An easy test to see if your temps are causing a problem is to leave your case open and place it on it's side so any heat can shoot right out of the board area. If your problems go away than BINGO... you have a winner.

Resolving the problem can be a bit of work. Quick and not as likely to help is to mount some fans to improve case ventalation. Picking up a good HSF and some Arctic Silver Thermal compound will usually do the trick. Or you can go liquid cooled like I did... 34c cold, 36c load.

Megabot you might want to check the accuracy of your cpu sensor... it's been a while but I seem to recall from thermodynamics that cooling a heat generating device below ambient temperature using only fans is... well... impossible. Using a 200 hp fan would not cool your processor 1 degree below the ambient temperature of the air that fan was blowing.
