Once again we see a "serious" thread descend into little more than thinly veiled taunting. I am beginning to despair - whenever I see phrases like "straw man" and "ad hominem" it's a sure sign that two or more people who, I am sure, consider themselves to be posessors of reasonable intellects have resorted to the "yah boo" school of debating.

It's not big and it's not clever. It's also getting this thread locked. I am sorry for any others who want to contribute to a sensible debate on this topic - feel free to start another thread on the subject.
