Point taken. I should know better than to generalize....

MagiK: oh, yes. I, myself, am waiting for fuel cell cars to become more widely available and reasonably priced.

I have no doubt that future generations will look back on us and wonder "what were they thinking?!" Fortunately, I think we will see more environmentally-conscious energy sources and technologies coming into existence in the next couple of decades. As always, the future is bright and limitless.

I do not doubt you there The real point in this thread...point of contention that is...is just how much of the change is Homo-Sapien induced. I say not much...others disagree.
Well, I'm not going to try and pin-point an amount, as it will want a lot of proof for that, All I will stick by is what I wrote in my first post on this thread, that some are blowing our participation out of proportion, and others are belittling it.
Also that even if we aren't changing it that much that doesn't give us reason to speed it up too much, we should try to be as environmentally friendly as possible and let the next ice-age come when it will.
But I do wish we had some accurate way of knowing how badly we are effecting it, it may be more than some expected and might convince them to be more kind to our habitat.
As I have said Im not against enviro-friendly technology, I just detest the alarmism that takes root. Keep researching, keep investigating and learn how things REALLY work....in the mean time I know for a fact that millions and millions of US dollars are being spent to improve alternative technologies. Err I didnt mean just in the US France recently made a huge improvement in Fuel cells, sharnk a house sized cell down to the size of a coke machine (err Soda machine) it was tres cool

Oh, don't worry I wasn't implying you were anti-envirofriendly, I was just restating my stance on the subject.
At least it is good to know that technology break-throughs are always being made.

This planet gives us life, and in return we destroy and rape it. And many people in my country don't think twice about it.
And this will take place when? and Ummm I do hope that you do not use electricity, gasoline or ...or...or hey!!! You are being so hypocritical, here you are sucking down kilo-watts of electricity to sit and blame the republicans for the destruction of the world....hmmm
I would also point out that prior to 1994 it was the democrats who controlled both the house and the senate for the previous ..what 30 to 40 years?

Oh just a little tid bit of trivia here....Im not a republican...I did vote for bush but Im a Libertarian just thought Id set the record straight.
You're acting like I just said that everyone should destroy all polluting products and go live in the forest. But I didn't. Sure, I use my computer, I sometimes drive my (very green) car around, and so on, but I do my part to help clean up the environment. What do you expect me to do? Not own a computer? Not have a method of transportation for work? Not go anywhere or do anything? I'm just saying that the "tree-huggers", as you people call them, are worth listening to. And I hope you people realize that before all the ice caps melt and Maryland becomes the next Atlantis.

I would also point out that prior to the early 70's, global warming wasn't even an issue, and from the 70's to 1994, there has been a Republican in the White House for all but 5 years, and apart from a few exceptions with Nixon, these Republicans (particularly Reagan and Bush) have been able to successfully block or veto any environment-friendly legislation.

I guess you people want to study global warming until it's too late, as opposed to studying the causes AND taking precautionary measures.

I'm wondering if you actually have any sources to back that up, or if you are just spouting nonsense.

Or we could huddle in our barely lit homes, waiting for the gov't or someone that Claims to know how we should live "OUR LIVES" better than us, to hand us a Paltery welfare check. And the coastal cities still flood, and the planet heats up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

I agree that the globe, itself, is warming but I don't blame the CFCs or anything like that. I think that it's just a very odd year and the sun is going bonkers! Less than 4 months ago a solar burst errupted from the surface of the sun that could have very easily engulfed this tiny planet... but it was in the other direction...

A while ago, i read an article in my paper that said Global Warming and Global Cooling is natural. It said with the suns rotation or natural cooling/warming it affects our planet in drastic ways.
