Just got this game yesterday. When I first played it, I thought the combats were unsatisfying relative to HOMM3 cos the units are so small, you don't get that "yeah kill 'im!! Go get em!" feeling hehe.
But I've realised this is counterbalanced by the far greater level of strategy available like heroes being able to fight directly in the battle. Also I was a bit annoyed that it actually has fewer types of units than HOMM3 and you can't even get all the types of units in a castle at once cos for example building a Monk building means you can't recruit Crusaders in that castle! Anyone else played it? Any opinions? Also, if anyone else has got it, they should join http://www.toheroes.com/ and give me a game as soon as the multiplayer patch comes out.

I just heard from one of my university buddies that the games has been spotted in the local stores, so I'll probably pick up a copy tomorrow or else begin next week.

I have installed it and played the tutorial, in some ways its not as much fun as III but in other ways it is superior....and as for not getting all the troops from one place...there are now caravans to auto-magicly ship recruited troops to a particular front line city...so no more long long chains or relays to bring up troops from the rear. I like it But I have to finish Freedom Forced before Im allowed to play with my new toys...and I think Dungeon Seige might take up some of my time too......

Also it's cool how you can just have an army of champions running around cos they have loads of movement, and take out all the crappy scout heroes that the computer sends to steal your mines. Yeah Gro, hurry up and get it. The multiplayer patch should be done in a few weeks then I can kick your ass err... I mean have a close combat against you!

Hmmm don't worry G. we have a few weeks to practice I think
You signed up on ToH yet? I know you were signed up before but you need to sign up again cos old accounts get deleted for the new season, to make it fair on newcomers. Can't believe no one else on this board has played it or is interested?!
