There now Ronn - that didn't hurt did it?

You see, everyone can do it if they really want to. All together now:

"The government of (insert country of origin here) is screwed up!"

The Bad news: The government has the right to 43% of that.

My question is ...Why? What is the official reason? I have alot of ideas from people, but nothing real. Thanks in advance for your input.

Hey Larry! having worked for a long time in companies that had bonus programs, I asked that same question way back when.... What it turns out to be is that it really isn't the government that takes the Money. It is the IRS. You see they take roughtly 43% of any lump sum cash awards that any citizen earns wether it's a bonus, lottery winnings or the publishers clearing house sweepstakes. You see they want to protect you from not having enough cash on hand to pay them when tax time comes around..sooo they take their cut off the top and shift the burden of getting any excess back from them to you the tax payer. So you will see at tax time you will get some portion of that $1800 they took from you because they had no right to take it from you in the first place. The IRS is one of the biggest threats to honest citizens this country has. Every year they persecute hundreds of innocent people who have to prove they are innocent or be considered guilty by default.

Guess I should add, that I had to fight for three years, spend thousands of dollars and enlist the aide of 2 congressmen (Rep. Duncan Hunter was one of them) to finaly get the IRS to admit that they had goofed and that I was right....I was still out the several thousand in legal fees that I spent..but they wouldnt take my home from me...wasnt that nice of them?
