When I first met the woman I was to marry, she would have nothing to do with me, and even made fun of my southern accent (my mom is from Georgia). But when I went to Mexico for two years, I lost my home accent, to be replaced with a cute little accent that for some reason girls find exciting. I had no problems with Karen after that, and whenever we go out to a resturaunt and I order, sometimes the waitress will ask me where I am from because I sound like I am from some far off country like (get this) Sweden, Russia, and one person said China! What are these people thinking?! None of them even guessed Mexico, I guess for my apparent whiteness, but still...

I know all about Southernese because almost my entire family lives in Georgia. I don't talk like they do though, and they all make fun of me for speaking *propa* english!
