Moiraine, once this malevolent German bastard held some lingering doubts if France was indeed "La Grande Nation", but then I was privileged enough to get to know you and now I just know that that claim couldn't be more true !
As we don't have a strong tradition of a national holiday here in Germany, I'd really like to know how it is celebrated in France - with fireworks and parades like in the US ? - and how you feel about it. How are you personally going to spend the big day ? However you spend it, I hope you and your family will have a splendid time ! ------------------ So long ! Hey Ramon have you never seen the big military parade on Champs Elysee? It's pretty big! And with the French Foreign Legion at the end of the parade - marching very slowly and singing!
And if I might say: hello to you lucky enough to live in beatiful Köln! [This message has been edited by Qrt (edited 07-14-2001).] |

Yes, Ort, while I have yet to attend in person, I have certainly seen pictures of that big Parisian parade on TV. But how do they celebrate it elsewhere and how does Moiraine celebrate it ?
Thanks, but I beg to differ: I don't think that Cologne is a particularly beautiful city, maybe an interesting one ... I take it then that you have been to Cologne ? Sorry, almost forgot: I am extremely pleased to meet you ! ------------------ So long ! I was in Paris once for Bastille Day. Absolutely fantastique!
Ramon, Moiraine has probably not replied yet because this was going to a very busy weekend for her. She had alot of family coming in. ------------------ Order of the Holy Flame Member of Clan HADB |

Thanks, Ramon , and you too Reeka !
Yes, I have a busy week-end, since my parents and my sister are here, along with my son back from camp and my two nephews. They will all be here until Wednesday. Here in France, we celebrate Bastill day with parades in the afternoon and early evening, fireworks around 10 PM and a big ball afterwards. We went to the restaurant, and watched the fireworks from a hill surrounding Grenoble. It was the first fireworks that my youngest nephew Bruno was watching ! He loved it a lot. (He is 5, and the years before, he always fell asleep before the fireworks started). We didn't go to the ball, as the kids were very sleepy though. Have to go, back soon, all of you have fun ! ------------------ The world is my oyster ! |
