Have you heard of those movies that use game engines? They can actually look quite a bit better then the game cause they dont have to worry about actual ai or anything to slow down the movie. I think theres a couple out now that use the quake 3 engine.

Well I bought the Titan AE on DVD and watched it this weekend, and well I liked it. Very cool, the characters are typical "comic"looking and the environments and the ships are very well made and sometimes looks "real".

Very nice, I like the crossover and also to use different techniques gives a certain feeling that your in for a "farytale".

However the new digitalized characters appearing in movies well, in some movies I guess one don´t notice it so much. Look at for example at Crow, Brandon Lee died during the shooting (ok, turned out as a crappy joke here didn´t mean that) and they used digial techniques to "paste" his face on the stunt dubble and fixed a voice over. Well doesn´t change that muh since Brandon did all the fightscenes which are hard to copy and he weares facepaint...

I haven't seen Shrek yet, but it looks great. I was reading an article on the filming of Final Fantasy the other day, and it is amazing the process they had to go through. There were in essence three actors for each character. There was a body actor which they used to map the skeleton for lifelike movement, their was an actor for facial expressions, and a voice actor. Just imagine the complexity of getting that all to work together and seem real. Most impressive.
