I had SOA about a month before i installed TOB. After I installed TOB, while still playing SOA, pauseing the game seems to be screwed up!?!? before i installed TOB it was fine and now i have to hit space bar like three or four times, sometimes more and once it does finally pause it is just as much of a pain to UNpause it.....?? also switched from single to multiplayer to run my own party after installing TOB...does anyone have any idea why i cant pause anymore??

I had the EXACT same problem when playing with a self created multiplayer party, and I too solved it by copying the saved game from "mpsave" to "save". I think it's because it has to access your network protocols which uses more processing power, slowing things down (almost like lag when you have to hit pause several times). It wasn't just after installing ToB with me however, as SoA was the same. I only run a Piii@567 MHz though, so I always assumed that it slowed down and lagged because I didn't have enough processing power. Whats your rig hrizonsticku?

I've never played a multiplayer game, but the manual metions player permissions on pages 43-44. Included in this is the ability to pause the game. Does this perhaps have anything to do with the problem?

dont know why, but multi pauses take longer to be processed. in both bg and bg2 i always like to be paused immediately upon entering a building/room/etc and could hit pause while the area loads. in multi it doesnt register. stick with single if you need quick response pauses.

Yes this is an issue in multiplayer games you are not crazy or anything hehe. Thankfully you can copy into a single player game.
