Well, I'm in spellhold now running bhodi's gauntlet, and I must say, I'm not liking the way things are going.
First I have a dream sequence where I have to decide which ability score I want to LOSE, so I decide on dex as strength didn't appear to be an option, and now my armour class is worse. The topper, though, was the information that perhaps Imoen and I are now on some kind of wasting away clock until I kill off Irenicus in the final battle, thus ending the game, and I haven't done half the other major quests yet! What gives? Is this wasting away thing real, or do I find a solution fairly soon, or should I restore an old save, and not go to Spellhold until the very end? I've enjoyed the game so far mainly because I could wander around and do my own stuff at leisure. I hate being under a clock and being funneled into a determined course of action. Gavin. |

For the no soul thingie, don't sweat it, there's no time limit.
There are timed quests in the UnderDark, but besides that, none really, save a few, like your StrongHold Quests ------------------ If not a Sorcerer, then a Paladin. ------------------------- Baldur's Gate Item Mart |

Completely true. There's no time limit here, it's just nice for the story. The first time through, I fell for it though. I finished the game with my Archer on day 43, but I realized I didn't do any of the stronghold quests (though I managed to do all of the other quests I could find, I can't recall the ranger quest starting. I got a cabin and that was it). I also didn't explore the two new forest maps after returning from the drow city.
The second time, playing with a Skald, I didn't finish chapter 2 until all stronghold quests were done. I really took my time on that one, as it takes several weeks before the first play is rehersed. Still, playing the game for the first time with the idea you're under pressure makes the game seem more tense, and makes playing for the second time more interesting as well. ------------------ The last arrow of Legolas kindled in the air as it flew, and plunged burning into the heart of a great wolf-chieftain. All the others fled. -J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings |
