My apprentices keep dying off. Is there some real trade off of item power vs risk of losing apprentices? Is it better to play real safe, or real dangerous? Usually the middle of the road is the worst of both worlds.

I was able to make one highest level and 2 low level items, it may depend on your mage's intelligence/level. I don't think it's possible to make all hih levels, though.

Spoiler
/ / / / / / / / / / There are a limited number of items your apprentices can make, a couple of them are great, ring of wizardry and staff of power. A couple lesser items can be made, such as the wand of apprentici, robe of apprentici, etc. In my opinion, if you figure out how to make the ring of wizardry, you have it covered. The staff of power is nice, but you can get a better staff later in the game, you can't get a better ring of wizardry. If you can get the ring and some lesser items you have the apprentice quest done. It doesn't matter if they die, They can't make anything past those items anyway. |

True, but if you tell them not to make a third item because of the risk involved, they will stop after the second item, you will get more XP and there will be a graduation ceremony for the three of them. So it *does* matter if they die. BTW the tall guy (forgot his name) will make potions for you afterwards.

My main character is a level 8 mage dualed to thief (level 14 thief I think). Does apprentice survival depend on mage level or current class level?
I had them make a ring of protection and one of them died, no matter how many times I reloaded and re-entered the sphere. I was dissappointed it was just a +1 ring. Now the survivors are working on a scroll. Can a dual class character get two strongholds? ------------------ Evil around every corner. Be careful not to step in it! Sherpa Doug |
