Fighters rangers paladins roll 1d10 for hp per level up to 10 + up to 4 extra hp for cons bonus, from level 10 onwards get 3 hp per level only fighters get bonus hit pints for ghaveing more than 16 piont cons.
cleric monks roll 1d8 per level up to 10+ up to 2 extra hp for cons bonus, from level 10 onwards get 2 hp i think. Thiefs& Bards roll 1d6 per level up to 10 +2 ponits for cons bonus, after level 10 get 2 hp per level mages & sorcerors roll 1d4 per level up to 10 +2ponts per level for constitution bonus. Barbarians roll 1d12 per level but apart form that are same as fighers. multi classed roll half from each class e.g mage/theif= 1d2 for each mage level+cons bonus 1d3 for each theif level. the manueal has a lot more on this too. ------------------ BOW before your Dread lord and ultimate tyrant lyachtu Xvim! bow bow bow bow bow bow bow bow bow bow bow bow bow bow bow BOW TO HIM! |

Dice rolls are explained in the manual. For example, 1d10 means a roll of 1 die with 10 sides.

Actually - and it isn't cheating, but saves time, - you can set the 'gameplay' to give you max hit points for your characters on every level-up. Saves you having to work it out as well. I never have got the hang of all this 1d8 business. I'm no good at sums! ( I wonder why I got the job of Treasurer fot the Theatre Company Sigh!)

in the game directory there is the game manuel in Pdf. format, which you can look at, not everyone knows that. With saveing throws the smaller the better.

Saving throws are like your AC, the lower the better. So is THAC0 and some other nonsense. It can be pretty confusing when you have a +1 sword that removes 1 from your THAC0, especially for the heathen that live on Diablo
