early on in the game i found half a note from a guy named tombelthen where can i find the other half and wheres the hidden stash.and are there any 'hidden' areas like the twisted rune (done that bit tough but fun), if so where are they?

The hidden "stash" that you are referring to from the journal only applies if you are a Ranger. It is part of the Ranger quest.
