O.K. Here's the trouble. I have a Pentium III 450 with a Matrox G400 max graphics accelerator. Although this is by no means a power system anymore, you'll have to admit it's no slouch either and should be able to run a game like BG2 quite easily in 3D mode. So why am I getting really, really slow frame rates in 3D mode to a point where it is absolutely unbareable to play the game and even in 2D mode it doesn't take much to drop the frame rate although the game is much more playable than in 3D. Am I the only one with this problem? By the way I have an Asus P3B-F motherboard wich means my Matrox card is running at AGP 2X, not 4X. Oh! And I do have the latest drivers for every components in my computer and directX 8.0. So please don't tell me to get the latest drivers. Hope someone out there can help me...Thanks in advance.

Yes, BG2 runs slow on my computer a lot of the time too (PII 400, old Diamond Monster 3D graphics card. S'pose I can't expect anything great). I'd recommend just completely switching off and burying the 3D graphics, they've got a lot of problems to be fixed; it even glitches on my friend's system, which is the most incredible machine I've ever seen. Try upping the cache if you have the HDD space. Don't raise the framerate above 30, either. Aside from that, all you can do is be patient. It might have its fair share of flaws, but it's still an excellent game.
