Note that I said getting round the defences, rather than going through them.
As for saves, great, but not every spell allows a saving throw As for items, we were considering a magic-free situation, weren't we? The only unenchanted item a monk can use to any good effect is the dual-wielded kama for increased attacks. [ 11-25-2004, 03:06 PM: Message edited by: Legolas ] |

But you have to do that too to beat the Monk.

I agree with Legolas in that a spellcaster would beat a monk... It's just a question of which spellcaster beats which.
Legolas, I'd offer to settle this like gentlepersons, except I only have a level 20 sorc.

Can you get a monk/sorc combo?
I've not been playing the game long and I'm not 100% on the 3rd ed. levelling rules yet. |

It's allowed... The only problem I foresee with that is the distribution of stats. A Monk should have high Wisdom and Dexterity (with other points going to places like Strength and Constitution) while a sorc should have high Charisma (with other points going towards Dexterity). It's doable, it's just probably not the most efficient combination out there.

monk / wiz may make more sense, cha could be left at minimum, and the higher int allows for some helpful skills, concentration, spellcraft, lore, tumble, w/ some left for heal & stealth skills, maybe disicipline too. (also allows for either elf or gnome races w/o penalty) |
