I'm playing safe and familiar for my first walkthrough of NWN so I thought that I would specialise in long swords for my paladin. Now half way through chap2 I have found +2 weapons of nearly every type. But I'm still lugging around a +1 sword found in chapter 1
Is there a special quest I have to go on, or is there a merchant somewhere I can buy from?

Ask about special items, and he'll point you to a guy that will upgrade that +1 sword of yours back in Chapter 1 (you need another ingredient, though). Also, you can upgrade that +1 sword in Chapter 3. Just a hint: if come across really valuable gemstones, don't sell them!

The Paladin I'm currently playing has found several +2 longswords in chapter 2. Look around in shops, perhaps you've mistaken a +2 longsword for a +1. I know at least one special +2 longsword available in a shop.
The one Nerull mentioned from chapter 1, Astral longsword or something, is the one I'm currently using and it has served me well.
