NWN has i's good points and it's bad points. You have to weigh the facts to decide what you think, for yourself. Let me summarize a few points taht have been discussed in the past here.

Positive:
* Multi playing feature superb, and always gets better, due to unlimited games that can be created and played with friends, etc. One would say this game was created for Multi-playing people in mind.
* The Game's toolset lets you take your imagination wherever you want to go, then you can make your game available for others. The toolset's abilities and inventories are being added to all the time.
* A good single-player game is included with game. If you are not the Multi playing, world creating sort...then not only do you get a single-player game with the purchase...you will be pleased to know that two add-on games are being worked on and released soon. They are kinda like expansions...but the price is a little high to call them that. Each of the single-player games should equal the amount of time of BGII.
*Graphics and game play are wonderful...not much I can add to there...just go look at some screen shots on their homepage.

Negatives:
* Of course, not everybody has the same tastes in gaming...and I have heard alot of people say that they were not satisfied with the single-player story-line.
* Some say, and I tend to agree...that they are not coming out with add-in toolset abilities fast enough. So far, they have given us a rat, a kolbold, and a couple other creatures...but no real good stuff yet. We have our hopes...but are impatiently waiting for more deadly creatures, more powerful items and spells...etc...but alas,,,we can just wait.

Well you need to understand that NWN is more than just a single game or story. Yes, there is an official campaign that comes with the game, but more importantly is the toolset which allows for players to create their own games using the NWN engine. There are over 2000 user-made modules at NWN Vault, which can be freely downloaded by you and played as either single or multiplayer. These modules are rated and categorized for your convenience. Check out some of the modules that are listed as having high role-playing content and see if any of those interest you. The official NWN saga may or may not interest you, but you should be able to find pleanty of juicy modules at the Vault to satisfy you.

I think a lot of the people who don't like NWN dislike it because they have issues with the game play, interface, combat style, 3rd edition D&D rules, etc. But if you like the NWN engine, then you should definately get this game because new user-made and even some offical content is coming out at a very nice rate. It's the game that keeps on giving! How do you know if you'll like NWN? Well you can now download the NWN demo at Bioware's site which might give you some insight into the game play and give you a taste of what's to come. A better indication might be to read over some of the threads at the official Bioware NWN forums and see what people like/dislike about this game and determine if NWN is for you. If you are expecting another Baldur's Gate, then you'll probably be disappointed because in my opinion the experience you will get from NWN is nothing like BG. They both have their pluses and minuses, but in the end they are both good rpg's that offer different role-playing experiences.

if your a quality level designer/storymaker then i havent found a better game to mess around with, forget the singleplayer if your the above , if only i wasnt a noob at using creation engines id have some modules finished already, as it is the scripts are doing my head in, but the level design is fast and fun and you can create better storylines than the single player in no time if your imaginative.

This is a game for the truly creative people, the single player is very linear which is rare these days, games like baldurs gate are much more non-linear so more fun, or games like morrowind, but with nwn you have the power to create totally non-linear modules thereby surpassing the singleplayer with ease, i wouldnt buy this game for the single player (knowing what i know now), but for the combination of single player & the creation engine i would definately get hold of it.

No, NWN is bad, horrid, awful---run, run !.....

Seriously, Darius, as the guys have already said, it has very positive points as well as a few drawbacks (altho the negatives depend on your own preference as a gamer). Personally, I love both the single player 'main' game as well as the multitude of mods which have sprung up. (In fairness, some of the mods are best left to molder on the shelf.....) Even a tech-inept person such as myself can create a mod (working on it, too!), which is kind of cool.

If I had to do it over, I'd definitely still buy NWN.

Question Mark

I really didnt enjoy the gameplay as much as I enjoyed BG1 and 2, but the graphics were awesome and if you have a good PC, then you can get the best out of the game... i give it an 8/10.
