Whats wrong with me? Im usually good at RPGs, being an old-school Bards Tale fan, and Wizards and Warriors seems to be the best 'modern' one ive seen in years. But i can hardly even begin the game without sussing out this from some hopefully helpful people: (and your gonna shake your head in increduility) *Ive got the Rat pie, *Ive got the inf on touching the statue on right of crypt door, but as i go down the spirals stairs and the first corridor, i walk past the threshold and hear "Thump" (sounds like a door closing!).
I then walk to the end of that first room to find that browny-reddy door closed as closed can be. NOTHING SEEMS TO OPEN IT! Ive tried jumping over the pit of ground that triggers the thump, dropping something where th 'thump' is if its a pressure switch, looking for other triggers or leavers, etc. The spoiler says go down, is there a Down button? Please help as im tearing the last couple of strands of hair from my already shiny, balding pate. Thanks, Simon

Most modern one? Wow. I'd have said that aside from PoR II: The Disaster, it was the most retro.

Welcome to the board,
Check the left wall between the two doors, you'll find a switch. If you have the illuminate spell (or torchlight or infravision), it helps.

LOL, It's been months since I was back at this board - and the first post I run into is the famous "I can't open this door in the crypt" . This is one that catches soooooo many people - I see Rynamur has already put you on the right track - remember that type of switch - that is what you will be looking for to load and unload different sceneries and dungeons. When you come to exit, you will use that switch again to open the outer doors. Have a nice time in the crypt .

Welcome to the board, SimonGrant!!!
As Davros mentioned - this bit gets many a player stuck but the good news is now that you know what you should be looking for, you will have far less trouble locating similar levers in the rest of the game! Have Fun!!! Wyv |
