Greetings,
W&W is a great game. I esp. like to get my arrows back from the enemies. But I have grahpical errors: 1) When I use D3D-acceleration I don't get the "action mousepointer" (attack, talk, get ...). I only get walk, look standard mousepointer. So in this mode I can't play the game because I cannot attack, talk to characters. Any solutions??? 2) When I use D3D-acceleration there's a short graphical mess on the screen during shopping in the armory (where you start) when scrolling left or right the buying list. Any solutions??? I use WINME, KYRO II, DIRECTX 8, 512MB RAM, AMD DURON 1GHZ Thanks for your advice |

I have someone with the same problem but with another graphics card:
-------------------- Q: My cursor in the adventure window doesnt work as described in the manual. I cant attack or get access to any other cursors but move and look. Im using an nvidia card with detonator drivers and running in D3D. A: Install the lastest detonator drivers (21.81 at time of writing) or run the game in software mode to kill this problem. (Since I just had this problem recently I figured I should add it here for the benefit of others) ----------------- What should I do know??? I use KYRO.... |

Welcome to the board, sstallone@gmx.de!!!
Try cross posting this into Saz' Techie Help Desk thread after reading through it to see if this particular problem has been covered before. I'm no techie guru so have no immediate solutions to offer. The software mode isn't bad and as long as it works you'll at least get to play until someone can offer you a solution. Wyv |

Thanks Wyvern. It's quite nice of you that you answered that fast.
BTW: Perhaps you can tell Saz something about this. You are a moderator, are you??? It is really a good game. Perhaps it would be much better if they used the combat engine how it is done in Wizardy 8. When you see an enemy it will switch into turn-based combat. Here, in W&W you don't have the opportunity to shoot at enemies without haste. Only if they come close to hand-to-hand combat it will switch to turn-based. Or am I doing something wrong??? Is there a way to switch to turn-based when I see an enemy??? Again, thanks for your replie(s). Chris |
