please help!!!!!

Hello,
I need help!! I am at the end of the Serpent Temple and have hit a black wall!! I am trying to find Elyssa and after a few hours, decided to read the walkthrough. It states to go up the left elevator from the serpent master's room and then use the key to unlock the west door....which I only see a black wall, no lock or door, just a black wall. Is this a bug??? Where is the lock??? I can't go any further.
Any info would be helpful,

Had another person recently with the same (or similar problem). He reloaded his drivers for his graphics card and that wall turned into brick (with the keyhole plainly showing).

You were right Xignal. What I tried was changing my video settings in the game from D3D, to software driver, keeping all options on high and it worked...the wall and lock appeared.
