Okay, I know that before Adrianna's friends blows her to bits,that she offers you two choices. The first is to join her merry band of women..vampires..whatever. The second is to choose between taking a key for the treasure vault or G'Ezerredd Ra's ring. Well my first choice was the ring. And to my amazement it did not open the Ornately decorated treasure vault in G'Ezerred Ra's little study room behind the music room. Has anyone had this problem? Is it a glitch? Needless to say I went back and took the ring.

Not sure I understand your problem.
After I gave the scroll of banishing to Adrianna, I declined her offer to become a vampire and chose the key rather than the vampire ring. When identified, the key appears as "Lich key" and this opens the room in the lich's study which contains a treasure chest. If the key doesn't work (?!?), you can still enter this room and overcome the "level 12 lock" with either level 12 lockpick skill or level 7 or so lockpick skill with a level 5 lock pick set.. |

It does appear that sometimes that key doesn't open the study vault but, as the_young_one mentioned, you can still get in. There is nothing of particular interest to be found there - just the normal sort of random treasure that you get in this area of the world. You can skip it without missing anything important. Wyv |

I couldn't open this with the key either the first time through the game. But my problem was I jammed the lock by continuously trying to open it when my lock picking skills were not high enough before obtaining the key.

The only thing that's constant (and worthwhile) in that chest are the +4 Wizard's Robes (great if you have an Oomphaz (or any other) warlock). Other than that, the treasure is purely random.
