Is this a game/program fault, or is my time sense warped? During "daylight" play, I have time for a fight or two and a little exploring, then it starts getting dark. After "dark" I can play for about two hours (by my wristwatch) and the game "night" is less than half done. Once I went into a town, made one stop at the armory, then went back into the game world. When I went in it was dawn, when I came out it was dusk! But if I go into a town at night, spend an hour (of my time) in the shops and temples, when I come out it's still night. The same when I go into a temple/castle at night. What's going on here? Note: Yes, I set the game clock to slow at daybreak, and to fast at dusk, and the same with the realtime/turn based settings. You know what? It doesn't make any difference!!!

Don't fight the time, use it!

Fighting at night is so much more fun than at daytime, because you can see enemies before they can see you, and if you're shadowed or invisible you have the absolute advantage over everyone!

But I know new people like the daylight hours... the time progression in the game can sometimes be unpredictable. Note also that, though you've paused a game, or are in the save screen, though nothing happens in the game (nobody spawns, spells are still active, etc.), TIME passes -- you pause at night, unpause and it's suddenly bright daylight.

EVERYONE: I know that night always *seems* to take forever, and daylight goes by so fast, but is it really like that? Is it not just imagination? Either way, I say just enjoy the game, stop fiddling with your settings, and play!

I never noticed a longer period of night than I did daytime, however it did occur to me once or twice that I always seemed to arrive in "new" (unexplored) areas in the dark.

You know what I did notice though?
The sun ALWAYS shines in Valeia...Ishad N'ha...Brimloch Roon!
Glad that the shops never close, I hated it in M&M 8, getting to town with loads of stuff to sell at 5:50 & having to run everywhere to beat the clock!

Good point Moni, although MM did have a handy thing called an Inn. At that Inn you could play a quick hand of Acromage or two, and then get a BED. They sure made the nights go faster, and then the shops are open in the morning .

Thanks for the ideas. Does D.W. really read this stuff? An inn would be great, or at least a way to camp out and let time go by, a la M&M. But what's this about seeing enemies at night before they see you??? And where is the "pause" button???

Your "P" button on the keyboard is your pause button.
