12800exp for Highland Snake!

This probably isnt worthy of its own post... but its so funny I had to tell SOMEONE! I am playing through HoF with the Party I started at level 1
2 x Sorcerers
2 x Clerics
1 x Druid
1 x Rogue
And the cleric is going up in levels and everyone else is squating. Im just at the point before the Sheangarne Bridge and I killed a Highland Snake for 12800 exp. Worse is when I killed Vrek this time around. He was worth 22800 exp. Everyone has over 200k experience and it just keeps rolling in. I found VERY useful the "Staff of Caballus" Invisibility Sphere once per day to protect my level 1-2 Characters, and the spell sanctuary is suprisingly useful for a level one spell. I will make everone invis then go into an area and summon Undead then throw up Sanctuary. The baddies immediatly turn there attention to the summons and leave the cleric alone; Rinse Wash Repeat. Animate Dead is not as powerful as it use to be but its still pretty good. And since it doesnt get better after Lvl 10 now there is no reason for my cleric to go up anymore. [img]smile.gif[/img] 10 is a good level to squat at in HoF. If only I could pull this off until the Dragon. I wonder how much he would be worth?

Just out of interest, how did you get past the goblin raids on targos? You must have used summons to do most of it, but with only one character higher than level 1... would have been tough.

I had one character who was 2Pal/12Cleric and I used her to weild the "Golbin Slayer" that you buy from Ulbrecs wife. I would summon a creature to keep them busy then I would sneak up behind them and "Slay" them. Took a couple tries but it worked. The "wargs" they bring arent affected and come for you instead of the summons so I had to use sancturary once or twice too. Oh yes. I had the mooncalf sheild as well. That gives you 10/- damage reduction from missle weapons and made my cleric almost immune to their archers. You can get enough money for the dagger by killing Phean of the Ragged Robes and sellings his robes BTW.

Two questions, what were the stats for your cleric/paladin? I've been wanting to try one of these, but i can never get them right. You need high wisdom for casting spells, high charisma for turning undead/diplomatic relations. High con is needed for hitpoints. High dex for missile weapons and AC. High str for hitting stuff with your melee weapons. It's a nightmare! Other question was what is that shield and where can i get it/how much does it cost?

The "Mooncalf Sheild" was made by a guy in the Targos Palisade. You have to "Bluff" him into leaving it unattended so you can steal it. When you enter the Palisade its to the northeast.

As for the Cleric Paladin: If your an RP'r close your eyes.

Now... before you try to kill me. I am not leading the party with her and I dont care about turning undead I just wanted the weapon feats and Aura of Courage from the Pally levels and after that she is a spell caster that can handle her self in a fight. [img]smile.gif[/img]
