Why not Drizzt in IWD? - Page 2

Drizzt was still in Menzoberranzan, preparing to leave the city and live alone in the Underdark with Guenhwyvar at the time of IWD (1281, the Year of the Cold Soul).

Think of IWB as being set in the last few chapters of Bob Salvatore's book Homeland (IWD is set 90-odd years before the present time, which is the Year of Wild Magic - 1373).

To put things in perspective, this is what was happening in Faerun around the time of IWD:

The Simbul is not yet Queen of Aglarond
The Shadow Thieves of Waterdeep are destroyed and banished to Amn
Azoun IV of Cormyr, who recently died defending his kingdom from the red dragon Nalavarauthatoril, hadn't been born yet
Amn is not yet unified as a country
The War Wizards of Cormyr are not yet founded

As you can see, still a lot of history to be made. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Drizzt would have gwyenavar as answer to malystrom and what is the storyline to IWD2

Also in IWD2 you could roleplay Drizzt because you can be a drow by race and make your whole team with drizzts team in it!

Drizzt aquired Guenhyvar before he came to the suface from masoj hunett.

And as for equipment they have most of their famous equipment about 10 yrs after he reaches the surface (thats my guess any way, as Cattie Brie was about 10 when Drizzt reached the Icewind Dale and by the end of the Icewind Dale trilogy when she and wulfgar are getting married they are between 18 - 20 and Drizzt has both Scimitars by then (not his armour or bracers of speed though))

You could in theory, play as Drizzts party in IWD2, now that you can play as drow elfs n stuff.

I know how you feel Gnomes_rule! Drizzt is the coolest guy going, i'm going 2 get Icewind Dale 2 just to make him!!!

It'd be cool if they made a forgotten realms game where you could actually go to the severed hand and dorns deep and choose to fight for one side or the other side or there could be a quest to kill Nym the drow to eliminate the probability of a war...what do you guys think of that idea?...

R.A. Salvatore ranks high on my list of best authors ever, hes up there with terry goodkind and stephen king! (ps, what book comes after icewind dale trilogy?) anyway, im surprised that the time o troubles never had an affect on drizzt and freinds. and i heard that iwdII is staged in lonelywood, home of regis! just hope that he doesnt use his ruby to get you to give away your hard earned treasure, (though i doubt his freinds would let him.
