Try a bard if you haven't already. They are good fun - even if you don't think so at the beginning. Drop the paladin, as far as I'm concerned. Never figured out a use for them. They're not fighters, they're not clerics, they're...trouble. If you want the effects without the limitations, add a fighter/cleric. Those boys are brilliant, especially if you use a dwarf.
