Ive seen some websites that have character and monster editors. Can you guys clue me in on why you would make an ultra-bad ass character that can kill everything by itself? Can you also make really tough monsters for your party to fight? If you lift the exp limit will that allow your characters to achieve higher levels that what you normally would? If so, what benefit is that? Do you get more spells or skills? Someone please give me some insight into this. Thanks all!

I've not really seen what the experience cap removers can do for you.. but I figure all they do is let you gain more levels, which means you can get more hit points... not sure if you continue to get spells and such, but I guess it's possible.

As for character editors, they do allow you to make super badass characters, which isn't much fun at all... however, they also allow you to manually edit the stats of your characters so that they match pen-and-paper characters you've played and loved.

And once you've finished the game, it's sometimes fun to experiment with the crazy things you can do to a character, while not having to work them up level by level as you experiment.

I agree that totally badass characters aren't always fun... but a little bit of mayhem never hurt anyone

If you get the editor, you can set abilities to 25 all round, set the native armor class to -10, set super high hit points, set immunities to just about everything, and basically whack the sh#* out of everything. I haven't tried it yet...

Hehe, i used to do that all the time after i beat Baldur's Gate. Give myself a straight 25 character, nifty armor, weapons, spells... then go and slaughter Candlekeep. I even managed to hold my own against Gorion before my damned Protection from Lightning wore off.
