Is there a virus named "Admin Cake"? I couldnt find it from any website, but i do think its some kind of virus. It seems to make multiple copies of itself in the windows folder everytime I connect to the Internet...any information on it would be welcome, if indeed it is a virus

Hmm.. Did a Google search and it sounds like someone has accessed your computer with this file. Probably through some online game. I think this should protect you (and remove it) but don't quote me on that. By the way, I got this information by reading this thread which came up during the Google search. It might provide some extra information.
Good luck with removing it EDIT: Paladin's looks better than mine, check his out. [ 06-07-2004, 12:43 PM: Message edited by: Jaradu ] |

Yeah, I took a look at the symantec website earlier, but I dont see how it could be that...we dont have any P2P software on that machine. My sister plays this online game called "Habbo Hotel"; could it have come from that?

It is hard to say. Even though the worm may have been written to propagate through P2P network, someone could have also mailed the infected file as an attachment to her.
Or your sister might have downloaded and execute the infected file without realizing the consequences. The chances of an unprotected PC picking up viruses/wroms from the internet is rather high these days. [ 06-08-2004, 06:52 AM: Message edited by: Paladin2000 ]
