Just a general update... There's a new version of Spybot S&D available (version 1.3 to be specific). New features and a new interface (but still familiar), and more protection. If I was smarter, I would have remembered the URL, but it's late, so Google away.

Enjoy, and practice safe computing.

Thanks for the update. For those of you who are a tad bit lazy to do a search, here is the link to spybot's homepage: http://www.safer-networking.org/

Strange. I told my Spybot to search for updates and it did not find any. When did this update come out? BTW there is also a new reference file for Adaware.

This update came out 17 May. And I had the same experience -- updating Spybot from the software did not find the new version. I suspect the internal update only searches for data files, not engine files.

I reinstalled the newer version and it easily found and overwrote the older version.

Thanks. I'll do the same thing. Why do they include an update feature if it doesn't find updates?

Ahhhh Ive just posted an explanation of this in a new thread, It involves Adaware too! (sorry I should read all the posts before I post)

Updates are no longer available on your old spyware.... You have to uninstall and download a fresh version.
