A new palnet has been discovered just past Pluto bringing the number of planets orbiting the sun to 10. It has been named Sedna.

Wow, cool. Kind of like a minor evolutionary discovery or something maybe?

There has always been a theory that a Planet X was there... somewhere behind Pluto.

The concluding word "tenth planet" is a bit too quick. Even Pluto isn't considered a planet by a lot of people.
Nonetheless, this is very cool news |

I remember watching those documentaries about the construction of the pyramids etc. and all the theories that aliens built them and the significance of the number 9 as it is the number of planets etc. Well it's good that that theory is at least partially disproved (if as you say, we do consider it a planet), it really bothers me when shows like that would jump to those conclusions. Anyway, yeah it is deffinatly cool. While i'm on the subject of this kind of thing, i might also mention that the Earth has at least 2 moons (technically 3 but the third is too small to really be counted) it is called "Crutnie" which was reasonably recently discovered, I think it has around a 50 day orbit. I'll look for an article about it and about the smaller one too. |
