Oooooooooohhhhh! I almost forgot! The crazy lady neighbor who passed away! Last year I was renting the top of a split level across from Pine Lake from my parents. There was this old building next door. It used to be an old small hotel by the lake back in the day. Simple rooms for simple folk. Anyway, this thing was in disrepair before I was born. By the time I got a good look at it, it was almost falling in on itself from water damage. This crazy old lady and her nephew lived in it. They stayed in the front portion that was barely livable. Anyway, after she passed he tried to sell the place and didn't have any luck. Anyway, I guess he told everyone to scavenge the place because he didn't want to worry about it. The place was wide open and people were constantly in and out of it. I went in out of curiosity and !
You wouldn't beleive it! The entire place, every room, was packed full of crap! Not packed quite as bad as those pics, but enough! Old newspapers, styrofoam meat trays, bottles, papers, clothes, etc. Some of the stuff, like furniture and mattresses, was literally decomposing off the frames and springs! The entire place was completely covered in filth and stunk like a stagnant pond! Mildew, mold, dust thick enough to be mud when wet. The nephew had a foot thick carpet of old clothing in his room packed down from being trampled on. The mattress was mildewed, so he put an air mattress on top of it. Hat's with cobwebs strung between them thick enough to look like streamers hung on the wall. It was simply ! I've never seen anything like it and probably never will again. Don't think it can't happen to you. I saw pictures and letters from her youth. Her husband was in the war, they had a pretty standard love affair from the looks of things. She seemed fairly normal and lucid at the start of her life. Obviously something happened that broke her. I'll never know what.
