I just received my first Citibank scam email, and I thought I'd open it to see how artfully crafted the email is in order to get suckers to expose their private information.

I get emails like that all the time. Spam spelled badly. I think they do that because some filters now also go through the text and stop the spam like that (I think [img]tongue.gif[/img] ). I don't see any other reason why they would make the text look differently every time...

Legal reasons, probably. If anyone calls the police on them, they didn't ask for your credit card. Just a thought.

Naw... they just asked for your ATM number and your PIN. There's nothing they can get with that... can they?
I've reported it over to Citibank, which has already been working on this particular variant.
