Heh heh, disaster scares! I remember the 'acid rain' scare thirteen years ago... everyone frantically buying asbestos umbrellas... ah, madness.
I get the feeling this solar flare activity is just the Sun being unusually seasonal and getting into the spirit of fireworks night. With any luck we can hope for sunsnow near christmas, too!

That's true... acid rain's an ecological menace, and has scarred the ecosystems of northernmost Europe, among other places. But even here near London, I remember folks thinking at the time that rain would suddenly melt the flesh off your bones in minutes. Aiee. Similarly, the first thing many people I told about the solar flare activity thought was 'is it going to kill us?!? we're all gonna die!'.
The solar flares are scares alright! The fact that the dangers have a factual basis doesn't make them any LESS scary. Quite the reverse, in fact. [ 11-06-2003, 12:04 PM: Message edited by: Tancred ]

my main concern is that sooner or later, the sun is going to basicly explode, it may take years for it to happen, but I think that the way the sun is, one day, it will become a black hole, or some other bad thing
P.S. We are all going to die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...and that is true...and you know it, everyone dies sometime
