When I installed my my new dvd/cd rom it came with a pretty good bundle of software including InCD which allows you to use your cd rom drive like a floppy disc. Great! Then I installed XP and every thing went to s**t. I couldn't format any new discs and I couldn't edit the formatted discs any more.
I think I fixed it but I don't trust InCD any more. Does anyone know of a better UDF application?

Did you reinstall the InCD stuff after you moved to XP?

I use DirectCD by Adaptec which seems to do the job fine.

Isn't InCD a Nero application? I know it is available in Nero 5, the early versions. It was dropped since it, as you said Boutte, did more harm than good. Why do you want to be able to format a CD and then add the files? You can do it just as easy in Nero. DirectCD uses a lot more space on the CD for its formatting than buring a regular CD does.

I use it to back up files. I have about a gb of gifs backgrounds buttons etc. The whole idea is to be able to move files back and forth from my pc to the cd and vice versa as needed but even though I've downloaded the latest version which seems to work allright I don't trust it. While looking for help on the net I read many horror stories about people moving important files to a udf formatted disc and then the next time the tried to use the disc the program doesn't recognize the disc. Scares me.
