Sounds like its dead, probably permanent. Only thing you can try is to clean the contact on it, but that probably wont work.

Cleaned the contacts before. No good. Seems more use as a frisbee. And As its a rectangle that aint much use at all. So I just bought a 256mb. Woo. 35 quid down the pan. I saw a RAM chip for 1050 something megabytes goin for over 300 quid!!! WOW

thats prett expensive for 1024mb. U can get them for much cheaper. The cheapest way would be to buy two 512 cards for like £40 each. Only thing is then u use up two slots so unless u have one of the new machines that has four slots then u cant expand!

Depends on the kind of RAM. Corsair XMS DDR 400 is quite a lot more expensive than generic DDR 266.

Plus whether the motherboard actually supports the 1GB of RAM...for example, mine can take 1 stick of 512RAM at PC 3200, 2 at 2700 and 3 at 2100.
