Could someone either explain to me how to make moving icons like the faces used in these forums, or even animated buddy icons for AIM... something along those lines? (very idiot proof, if at all possible) Or at least link me somewhere that explains it step by step? I guess the term would be 'gifs', is what I'm looking to learn to make. I know a few people who make them and they make it sound so easy that I want to try, but when I'm home and ready to give it a go, they're not online...
thanks in advance for any help [ 09-16-2003, 07:09 AM: Message edited by: 605 ]

hmm... well you can make them with a program called Visual Impact... basically it lets you overlap images...
Or you could try powerpoint.. but thats very very hard.. Or you can get animationshop pro, which lets you create constant images of change (motion) and play together and PRESTÓ! your image of Barbarian from diablo 2 comes to life.. ~Marikai

Well as you probably know, animated Gifs consist of a series of frames. Each frame is a single compressed image file. So what you need to do is make each frame somehow, however you want and then use a free Gif maker to convert the frames into one gif file. Do a search on google for gif maker or something like that. More professional packages will let you draw an object then manipulate it, i.e. move, rotate, change its shape etc. and it will record your actions into seperate frames. Macromedia Flash lets you do this - try getting a trial version from www.macromedia.com.
