Shocked From Japan to Boston...

From Yahoo Odd News...

Quote:

Skinny-dipping tailgater accused of kneeing cop

AMHERST, Mass. - A tailgater skinny dipping inside a truck bed at a University of Massachusetts football game has been charged with assault for allegedly kneeing a campus police officer in the groin.

Deputy Chief Patrick Archbald said a 21-year-old man was among several fans splashing around in the back of a pickup truck before Saturday's game against the University of Delaware.

When police told them to stop, the man refused to get out. He then approached an officer and kneed him twice in the groin, Archbald said.

The officer, whom Archbald did not name, was given morphine at a hospital. He could miss up to two weeks of work.

The man was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

What??? Needing *MORPHINE* for a couple of knees to the groin? And two weeks off work? Just what the heck was he packing in his kneecaps?

In any case, d'you think there might have been a wee bit of alcohol involved here? And, not knowing.... do people tailgate prior to sporting events in other countries? I really don't know...

Well, blunt force to the family jewels does hurt.

But let's be real... if the guy was tailgating, he'd had a beer or thirty. How much force do you think he could muster for it? Twice?

And for a sober adult male to *not* be able to protect the family jewels... *TWICE*... yeah, that would both make you feel stupid and hurt. I can maybe see morphine for intense pain, but two weeks off work? Unless the jewels were crushed into powder (or something similar), that's just excessive... but if they were crushed into powder, it's not enough

Well, as funny as some find it and embaressing as it is, that area is quite sensitive for males and can be subject to alot of damage. Even a forceful kick can send a guy into agony.

SpiritWarrior.... I *AM* a guy. I've been hit there before. I've had falls that, were there a video camera around, you might have seen on some Funniest Videos show. Note to self: Never try to walk on top of the monkey bars again...

I got kneed during an indoor soccer game.... I *KNOW* it hurts! I stumbled to the gate, bent over for a long time to catch my breath, and got back in.

Doesn't make me superman or anything like that, but that was a hit from a young adult male in full tilt during a game. Not a hit from a (probably) intoxicated adult male on a slippery surface.

All I'm sayin' is that unless there's some major damage there, two weeks off work seems a wee bit excessive to me.

That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.
Her refused to get out, then got out???

..and as an officer, he allows someone to approach him in a threatening manner and get kneed in the nuts? I shutter to think what type of trailing their getting over there.
I'm not for violence, but when someone gets in arms reach like that (or half a leg) you drop the guy; fast!

Maybe he's spotted his tonsils and assumes his nuts have been kicked right into his mouth?

I've tried researching to find more info, but no luck. I did find that the perp is a 21-year-old male, and I'm sure his momma is gonna be really happy with his mug shot

Guess I shouldn't be so hard on the cop... I mean, getting hit will definitely take the wind out of your sails. But as Variol said, the kid had no business getting that close. The cops were apparently not in control of that situation...

True, most police officers would have tazed him before he got that close.
