WOW!!! It only took a month or so. I love this game, already starting a new one. Is Neverwinter nights the same story line? It says I can import my character, so Im assuming so. Any comments on NWN would be great. Thanks

GJ, and welcome to IW!
Unfortunately, since SoA/ToB uses 2nd AD&D and NWN uses 3rd edition AD&D, Bioware had to scrap the importing of chars. NWN is good, but I found myself coming back to BG2. If you're going to play a lot of multiplay, NWN is worth it, but I found that the single player campaign was not worth its large price tag. [ 09-15-2002, 01:16 PM: Message edited by: True_Moose ]

It's pretty deep, but it seems to be a bit more like IWD. You can only control 1 char, so you don't get the cool NPC interactions. On the other hand, the 3rd edition rules are much funner for making chars with. It's also not as epic, in that you're not fighting for/against your father the god. The storyline is pretty good, although it seems a lot more superficial (an excuse for you to go around and kill things.)
I'm sorry if I sound like I'm ragging on it. It's a good game but IMHO BG2 kicks the living snot out of it.

I have to agree with the others, NWN was fun and the 3e characters added a new dimension, but I missed having total control over the whole party and only having one henchman sucked.
NWN is much more linear than BG (1 or 2) and I finished it in less than a month, I expect I'll take at least a couple of months to finish BG2, if it's anything like BG1 was. (bearing in mind that I'm done vacation at the end of this week, and actually do have to work for a living ) What redeems NWN is the ability to design ones own dungeons and dungeonmaster for your friends. I'm glad I didn't rush out and pay full price when it first came out...
