Ok, I have seen this a couple of times so far, but didn't think anything of it because it was on 'cheaper' items (usually wands, so I has assumed it was because there were no charges left). Here's the problem: I am playing a multiplayer game with 3 of my own characters, plus the occasional NPC to get their quests, and I found the Namarra +2 long sword. I identified it, and having no need for it, went to sell it at Ribald's. He is only offering 1 gold for the silly thing. It was after seeing this that I recalled it occuring in the past but didn't think much of it at the time.

I have the latest patch as far as I know (the one from Bioware) and am wondering if any of you have seen something like this too.
:confused21:

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I noticed this too although not all merchants offered 1 gold. I'm not sure if it's a bug or not. Try looking for a merchant that offers more than 1 gold it seems only some do.

I'm not familiar with the sword you are describing, but if it is an item which recharges after resting, try resting and it should be worth more.

Namarra, Long Sword +2
Also known as Neversleep, this ancient blade is thought to have been present at some of the most influential conflicts in Faerun's history. Sightings have been noted as far north as Thay and as south as the jungles of Chult, though documentation is oddly lacking regarding the details. It is perhaps a result of the sword's ability to silence all sound within a large radius, removing the effectiveness of attacking mages but also preventing any discussion that might have followed.

STATISTICS:

Special Abilities: Casts Silence 15' radius three times a day
THACO: +2 bonus
Damage: 1D8 +4
...

pcgiant could be right.

Guys, don't you ever read the text in those "Loading Area" screens? It says that merchants will only pay 1 GP for an Unidentified item, or for an item that has no charges.

For another brand of funkiness, try selling the Flail of Ages. You can't. Even Ribald won't buy it--not because it's a 'fenced' item, but because it never crossed the programmers' minds that anyone would sell the best weapon in the game, so they never made a 'selling price' for it.

On the sell screen in my game, the price offered is 1350GP, even though it is blacked out, indicating that it can't be sold.

Isn't this what pcgiant said? That the sword would recharge after resting and worth more?

Flail of Ages cannot be sold because (I think) it is a sort of quest item, like Symbol of Amaunator, keys, notes, etc.

I also have seen this. I had identified it so this was not the problem. Usually if you just go to another merchant they will buy it from you at a reasonable price.

upgrade it in ToB. The programmers had long-term plans for this weapon, and I say it is the best weapon in the game.
