That might mean McClaren might go in the Summer? Us Boro fans can only hope...

I prefer David Moyes. But he doesn't have enough european experience.
Could be Mclaren, since he is doing a swell job in Boro. Got a couple of excellent result these past matches. |

That's utter BS. There's only one feature a coach needs, and that's the gift of being able to motivate players, to get the most out of his team. Marco van Basten didn't have one minute experience as a headcoach when he accepted the job as coach of the Dutch national team, he lead us through the qualifying rounds undefeated. No "experienced" coach could have done a better job. Same goes for Frank Rijkaard with Barcelona. When he signed his contract he had very little experience as a headcoach, now look where he stands with his team. And don't forget he reached the semis with Holland in the 1998 WC as a completely unexperienced headcoach. Jurgen Klinnsmann from Germany is another example, no experience whatsoever, yet he has managed to get the Germans back on track and made them once again a side to be reckoned with. So experience is overrated, period.

Oh, and what exactly do you consider a swell job ? Cause the last time i looked at the British premiership tables, Boro was in 17th place. I'd call that anything but swell, a few more losses, and he'll be dishonorably discharged.

Hell, Maybe they should hire me instead. I'll gladly do the job for free. They don't need to spend a single penny to hire me. I don't have any experience. By the examples you brought up, I'm sure I'll be capable of bringing England to win any tournament and especially the world cup. Oh joy! ![]() Quote:

Anyone but Arsene!
I'd prefer Curbishley. |

So you can't put just anyone in front of a group of overpaid footballstars, but he also doesn't necessarily have to be experienced. I can come up with a thousand examples of coaches with a truckload of experience, that didn't do a very good job as a coach for either a nation's national team, or a clubteam. Perhaps England should give it a go with Stuart Pearce. It would at least be a fresh start.

I was just going to mention Stuart Pearce as another example, johnny. I think his way of motivating (makes the players shit scared of him *g*) works well. He cares about his team, you can see it pisses him off if they don't get a throwing, or a player gets booked for a silly offence.
McClaren isn't like that. To us fans it looks like he doesn't care whatsoever. Also in his contract is a get-out clause that means he can leave if leaving for the England job.
