I'm going to buy an MP3 player and so far it's down to a 60Gig Zen Xtra and a 20Gig Zen Touch.
The Zen touch looks much nicer and is easier to control, plus it has double the battery life of the Xtra, only con is that it is only 20gig and not 60gig.
The Xtra on the other hand still looks good, but not as nice as the Touch, plus I'm unsure if it can be used as a portable Hard drive (Very important)

So my question is, should I spend the extra $100 and get the Xtra? My only requirement would be that I can use it as a portable Hard drive as well (would be very handy at work)
With the features that I loose (the Touch with a free remote/FM tuner that normally costs quite allot) is it worth the extra size that I gain and the battery life that I loose?

Thanks in advance.

The Zen Touch isn't as easy to control as you may believe... I have it, and the touch pad thing can be very fiddly. I know nothing about the Xtra... but that touch pad really makes me wish I had gone with the popular choice and got an iPod.

Copied from Nomad World:
The NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra doubles up as an external hard drive for storing all your photos, documents and other data files.
From that I gather that yes, Xtra can be used as a portable hard drive.

Oh yes... something else you should know about the TOuch (and probably the Xtra as well).

Although you can use it as a portable hard drive, you need to install the creative software onto any computer that you wish to transfer the data to or from. You can't just drag and drop.

I own the 60gb Xtra, and like it. Although it is bigger than the Touch (I have had my Xtra for nearly a year now, and have been considering buying a 40gb touch) I prefer the extra space, as I have about 35gbs of music. The Xtra is very easy to use, and 14 hours battery life is plenty, just recharge at night. You can put any files on it, and I have copied games etc. over with mine. I suppose ultimately it comes down to personal preference, but I think I prefer bigger with tripple the space to the smaller touch.

And Callum is right, you need the software, however this takes seconds to install and comes in handy anyways.
