I read somewhere that you can get Staff of the Magi in SoA. Where can I find that? Anyone know?

it can be obtained from the lich and his gang... they can be found inside a trapped and locked door in the bridge district. however, you need a rogue stone to be able to teleport in to their domain...
BEWARE, this battles is one of the hardest through out the game... try to take on them one on one because you will go against a lich, a vampire, a beholder, a man, and a lady mage who summons fiends and sort...

To be a bit more precise, the door is located next to the door where you fought the Elemental Lich, who holds Kangaxx's torso. You need a Rogue Stone to enter, as eLLithid said.
The gang there, led by a Lich named Shangalar, is the Twisted Rune, probably the toughest party in the whole game. And their only good loot is the ass-kicking staff Staff of the Magi.

Thank you for the information, I beat the Twisted Rune and got the Staff of Magi. One TOUGH fight I have to admit. Only two people left standing at the end.
