Lay off the game for a while until you get back that drive. Then try for yourself.

I'm not gonna give you any spoilers if you don't have the guts to go out there and find out for yourself

...The Maze is a different kind of challenge, but the rewards are great There's a Regen Ring, a +3 Spear, some Doomplate +3, a Ring of Free Action (yes! Die, illithi!), a part of that great Gesen bow, lots of good spells, and tokens you can use to generate Boots of Speed--among others.

I would suggest going back to where you started, and then proceed downt the northeast passage. Behind the door is a Clay Golem. Kill it, and you'll find, along with a few other goodies, the much-valued Bag of Holding. That alone is worth all of Bodhi's teasing.

Be sure to grab the Opal Stone, Ruby Stone, and Sapphire Stone. They're the key to a portal you'll find. Be prepped when you "feed" the stones one at a time to the Portal, since three monsters will appear in succession. (It's a good thing in general to keep protective spells running before opening new doors in the Maze, since most have nasty-tempered things with long, dirty teeth behind them.)

I'm deliberately focusing on early tasks, because there's a lot to relish in the place. If you have more specific questions, I'll try to help out as well. But you'll need to do some of the work, too! The Maze is a fun place.
