What's the best class combo with race

I've beat the game twice but i'd like to know what the best class is in the game and if so what race should i use?

I've played the game twice all the way through, and am on my third...

First: good fighter
Second: evil fighter dualled to a mage
Now: neutral (of course) Avenger (druid)

I like my druid the best. The "best" class depends on your playing style. Also, some prefer to only use NPCs (like me) and others like to use only their own chars, and others like to go it solo. Check the other messages in this forum. The kensai/mage is often mentioned, and other multi-classes.

About the race thing...just pick a class, and choose among the available races. At this level, the minor differences among the races are insignificant.

Hi Robohobo,

I seem to like Elves best of all races. Elven Sorcerers, Elven Fighter/Mages, Elven Archers and even an Elven (well, technically Drow) Cleric.

Gnomish Thief/Illusionists and Fighter/Illusionists beckon, and Half-Orc Fighter/Thieves stom loudly for attention, and Halfling Assassins look awefully cute ... but for some reason I always like my Elves better.

Exempting Cavaliers, who I can only wish were Elven.

if you get TDD you can get a load of Drow characters- ive got a drow battle warrior and she is very powerful. Dwarfs are also good characters too.
