i have never played a faerie char. because they seem to die so easily but a lot of people on this board seem to swear by them especially a ninja could anyone explain the benefit of the faerie char. to me?

Yep, the infamous cane is restricted to a Faerie Ninja only. It is probably the best one-handed weapon in the game, and is also cursed (so no missile weapons if you equip it). However, that's the only drawback; there's no HP drain as with some other items.
Don Barlone has the Cane and you have to kill him to get it. Best to save before doing that, as the drop is not guaranteed. |

holy cow! I finally put a fairy ninja and a cane of corpus together (could never get Blienmeis to give it up in Wiz7). Went from dual fairy sticks and 100+ round combats with iron weeds to cutting down 2 rattkin breeders in 3 rounds (cane + winterwand). Now the breeders were only lvl 8 vs. lvl 16 (2 valk, 9 bish, 5 ninja), but man I could get use to the carnage! Now if I can only find a rod of sprites some where ...

heh, i got the Cane from Blinmies only after i had one char with high speed, Snakespeed, and a *Light*. Then he went down on the first whack.
