Bard dillema

I've been playing wizardry 8 for some time and I need to know if there is anyway to GET & USE the SOULFUL SAX without having to recruit SAXX (the umpani BARD). I have my own Bard and I need that instrument. Please tell if there is another way without killing him. I tried pickpocketing (my skill is 90) but nothing. Is there anyplace i can get it?

welcome to the forum God gundam but this is the wizards and warriors forum not the wizardrs 8 one to get to the wizardry 8 one click that pic that has ironworks wizards and warriors and a pic of a graveyard on it a list of games should appear click wizardry 8 and your there.

Welcome to the boards God Gundam. Even if it is the wrong one lol [img]smile.gif[/img] . If I Remember correctly you can´t get that item anywhere else so keep picking his pockets. As for using it you need a lvl 8 bard with music 45. You can also get a lot of other nifty things by picking Saxx´s pockets.

Well you could recruit Sax and let him die and then take Sax before dismissing him. I am not 100% sure this will work but you could give it a try. If you are against killing you could try weighing him down with equipment then running till he drops before taking his sax. Once again not 100% sure it will work but it is worth a try.

You can get into his inventory, take the sax and give it to another character (by right-click on that character within the inventory screen). Then immediately take an item from the common inventory bag and give it to saxx. A dirty trick, but it works.

I just picked up a Soulfax Saxx in Bayjin. Perhaps a random placement? I sold it (no bard) and never even talked with Saxx.
