Hello everyone,
Well, leave it to me to always be the one to research multi-stikes (and kicking, ha), but I've trying my best to learn about how this works in Wiz 8. Something interesting happened the other day when my Fighter (Scronan) leveled up from level 9 to 10. Normally, I would just give him strength and vitality at level up, but on a whim I gave him speed and dexterity. Then I added some to his sword skill (about 59 afterwards) and the rest to close and ranged combat. Oddly, after the level up he had two attacks. So, I went back and reloaded and tried many things, like just increasing dexterity or speed. But, I found that Scronan only got the 2nd attack if all the points where put for Sword Skill, Close Combat, Dexterity and Speed. I also worked with this during the demo, and found that you need a weapon skill of at least 50 to get a second attack. But the other factors are: Speed Dexterity Combat Skill (close or ranged depending on melee or ranged attack) Attack Raing So, another thing I found with my Ranger with the Elven bow. When he first started out with it, he only would get one attack and one strike. For a long time he was holding it as a secondary weapon and a spear as his main so he could learn how to fight up close. On a whim I put the bow back in his primary weapon slot, and lo and behold, two attacks and two strikes! He did have around 50 in his bow skill and ranged combat, so it made sense. Some high level items like the Elven bow do give combat bonuses for multiple hits, just like the Blade Cuisinart in the older Wiz games. Each weapon has its own affect on the modifers, such as my Valkrye can attack twice with the Stun Rod, but not with an Awl Pike or other low level spears. I find it odd since the Stun Rod takes -6 to initiative, so I don't think initiative figures into attacks and strikes. Are there any programmers or people from the Wiz 8 team lurking out there? Am I close of off by a mile? I think I have some pretty good leads towards figuring this out, and I for one would really like to know how this system works. This is certainly not a cheat or a spoiler, but rather information on combat dynamics. I wish this was process was mentioned in the manual (is it in the hint book?), so if anyone has any ideas or wants to brainstorm on this, please comment! We all know how much multiple strikes can help characters fight, it can mean the difference between life and death. So, I'm going to get to the bottom of this, one way or another! Best, Scronan

I dunno, Scronan...my Dracon Samurai (Mata) has been making multiple strikes since Level 1. They seem to be occurring with more frequency now, though.
Also, my Fighter (Alec) has been striking twice since about level 5 or 6, but few and far between. It's been getting more frequent lately, and thank goodness with some of the things we're encountering now. Cheers, -Sazerac |

Hi Saz,
Hmm, well Samurai have the "Lightning Strike" skill which allows them to strike 4 times when they go into "lightning mode". I imagine this skill has a better chance of happening as their level goes up. I'll do more research and find out for sure. Best Scronan

I believe what you are experiencing is the delay factor of certain weapon types. Heavy weapons have a longer delay and cannot attack2x in the same round unless you have a high speed value
